News from the Board of Trustees
At the June 18 meeting the board:
...following an extended discussion about the work of the Building Committee and the steps needed from this point on:
- Voted to create Capital Campaign Committee to prepare for fall pledge campaign
- Agreed to appoint an ad hoc Financial Committee to investigate sources of money other than pledges which might include mortgages, bridge loads, endowment
- Voted to authorized the Building Committee to contract with Angie Sweeney as consultant for the pledge and finances of building project
- Voted to authorize the Building Committee to contract for an original design from the architect they choose. The committee has heard presentations from several architectural firms as well as firms that provide both building and architectural services.
In other business, the Board:
- Recognized the need to define policy for what is to be included in the Focus, and
- Selected Karen Brooks as volunteer of the month for her work as Department Coordinator for Congregation Ministry, Chairing the Worship and Arts Committee, and her work on the Central Midwest District’s Women and Religion
